RULES:
Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits about themselves. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 5 people to tag.

1. I don't eat any vegetable that start with the letter "c".
2. I am really afraid of grasshoppers...bad childhood experience.
3. I've wanted to go out and chase a tornado since I saw the movie Twister.
4. I've started writing at least 5 stories and never come anywhere close to
finishing any of them.
5. I am an amateur blacksmith.
6. I have made a chainmaille hat, half-glove, and vest.
7. I have come to the conclusion that I hate all VHS tapes...Go DVDs!!!
8. <lj:music>Cars going by outside</lj:music>

Okay, so I just test drove a 2007 Toyota Yaris today and it simply, to put it mildly, kicked some can. It didn't have the "Power Package", which means that it didn't have power door locks or power windows. Bummer. But, they were going to look into adding the power package to one of their new cars coming in (should be on the 20th of May). If that happens, I should be able to use my current car as a deposit (hopefully down payment) and drive off before the end of the month in a new Toyota Yaris.

http://www.toyota.com/vehicles/2007/yaris/index.html?s_van=GM_HOME_FLASH_YARIS

Check it out. Definitely a wicked awesome car.

Case Mod: "OverGrown" - - Introduction

I've created this journal partly to have a place on the net where I can keep give others a chance to see my works and partly to track the progress of my first case mod entitled "OverGrown". This first post will simply be an explanation of what I'd like to see accomplished in this case mod. For those who don't know what I mean by "case mod", I'm referring to the physical modification of a computer case to make it look "cooler". Some of the best examples of these would be at thebestcasescenario.com. They have some wicked awesome case mods.

Anyway, the mod I am planning on working on will depend a lot on my metalsmithing skills. The right side panel of the computer case (which lies behind the motherboard) will have a vine-like pattern cut out of it. A thin sheet of Lexan will be placed behind the panel to protect the inside from dust. Some LED column lighting will also be added to give some nice effects. My metalsmithing skills come into play with three dimensional vines that will appear to be coming out of the left side and wrapping their way around the PC. A window of the same Lexan as before will be added to the left panel and a custom case fan grill will be installed. Finally, the inside will contain green round IDE cables and some other lighting effects. There might be an addition to the top in the form of some smithed flower or something like that. Anyway, that's what I plan on doing for the case mod. I'll post some pictures when I can get them to look better on PhotoBucket.
